Beautiful historic home/guest house in ethnographic reserve of Shiroka Laka close to Pamporovo

This beautiful guest house/home is situated in the heart of Shiroka Laka, close to Pamporovo. The village is a beautiful “living museum” where life is dominated by the rhythm of the seasons. The house consists of 3 floors and is approx. 250 sqm. It is about 150 years old and is registered with the Dept. of Culture as an historic monument.

The guest house/home is situated in the old part of the village. It is an historically important building. It fronts directly onto a narrow cobbled street, which 100 years ago was the main street (as per photo) and has a great atmosphere with tour groups taking photos and artists painting, folk groups shooting music videos, etc. Although the village only has a population of 800 it has a number of sophisticated restaurants and even a supermarket. There are also a lot of younger people, which is unusual for a Bulgarian village.

The interior has been completely renovated by traditional Rhodope carpenters and stonemasons and is the last word in modern convenience while retaining the original beautiful wood ceilings floors and magnificent stonework.

The 5 bedrooms are all en suite and feature large comfortable beds and mattresses.

The house also has a large traditional "mehana" pub which has a big fireplace for "cheverme" parties. Cheverme is the famous Rhodope spit lamb which is done indoors. This can seat about 25 people.

The downstairs area has a 45 kilowatt central heating system.

The kitchen is modern and clean and high tech with a two-oven glass top stove gas cooker. It is fully equipped with bread machine, ice maker, coffee machine, food processor etc, etc. A fridge/freezer is located in the kitchen and a large chest freezer and meat bandsaw for bulk meat in the basement. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer.

The furniture is mostly massive hardwood antique with a victorian ball and claw theme and all furniture and equipment are included in the ridiculously low price of Euros 170000.
